Operations/Maintenance:

Ensure daily inspections and maintenance on electrical equipment are carried out.

Ensure that the permit to work system is in place and followed.

Participate in the effective management of the Rig Maintenance System and Inventory Control System – ensure all records are maintained on a timely basis.

Carry out periodic maintenance according to the guidelines and coordinate same with supervisor and other department heads.

Operate, maintain and repair power generation and distribution equipment.

Maintenance and repair general rig equipment such as HVAC system, refrigeration plants, power and communication systems, lighting, etc.

Carry out maintenance and repair on electrical components of drilling and marine equipment.

 

QHSE:

Incorporate the Safety Conversations planning process into all tasks, whether working alone or as part of a team.

Participate daily in the safety risk assessment process.

Apply safety risk assessment monitoring during the execution of planned tasks.

Ensure subordinate personnel are properly trained to perform safety risk assessment observations and monitoring.

 

Personnel:

Meet the training requirements as per the applicable training matrix.

Mentor, develop and train crew members to ensure they are competent to work at their next job level.

Ensure that all subordinates have the necessary skills and experience to fulfill their assigned tasks in a safe and efficient manner.

 

PREREQUISITES / QUALIFICATIONS:

Electrical Engineering degree or High school diploma. Work experience and demonstrated ability of oral and written communications may be substituted in lieu of formal education.

A minimum of five (5) years' experience in a similar position working on an offshore jack up rig.

Valid medical examination and vaccination certificates.

Knowledge of all technical calculations required for electrical operation of the drilling unit and basic computer skills.
