Derrickhand (Service Rigs/Workover Rigs)
Salary: $36.00-$42.00 per hour
The Derrickhand position is deemed to be a "Safety Sensitive" position due to the proximity of heavy industrial machinery. A Derrickhand handles the uppermost section of the drilling string as it is brought from or lowered into the wellbore or drill hole. A Derrickhand oversees some of the machinery on the rig and is responsible for the conditioning of the drilling fluid and the circulation machinery. The Derrickhand spends 25% of his time up the rigs derrick and plays the lead role in stacking and guiding pipe as it is tripped in and out or reconnected into the hole. A Derrickhand works with the mud systems, monitors weight and mixes weight properly while reporting any changes. The position requires monitoring pump manifolds and most importantly, good communication with the Driller and the Rig Manager.
Driller (Service Rigs/Workover Rigs)
Salary: $39.00-$47.50 per hour
The Driller position is deemed to be a "Safety Sensitive" position due to the proximity of heavy industrial machinery. An oil driller is a skilled professional responsible for the operation, maintenance, and oversight of drilling equipment on oil and gas rigs. Their primary role involves controlling the drilling process, including the setup and operation of machinery, ensuring safety procedures are followed, and monitoring drilling parameters. They play a critical role in the exploration and extraction of oil and gas resources, operating drilling rigs efficiently and safely, while also troubleshooting and maintaining equipment to ensure uninterrupted drilling operations. They work closely with a team of skilled personnel, including drillers, derrickhands, and roughnecks.
Floorhand (Service Rigs/Workover Rigs)
Salary: $30.00-$36.00 per hour
The Floorhand position is deemed to be a "Safety Sensitive" position due to the proximity of heavy industrial machinery. The Floorhand is responsible for assisting in setting up and taking down equipment, handling sorting and moving, tools, pipe, and other materials in addition to maintaining a clean and organized work environment. They are also responsible for the manipulation of the sections of pipe or drill stem and the rig floor. It is the duty of the Floorhand to ensure, a clean rig floor, take instructions, and be prepared for different tasks
